Unfortunately, church membership has continued to decline and where once more than 300 regularly worshipped at Avenue, today the figure is nearer 30, almost all of whom are over 60, the vast majority considerably so. Accordingly, the members have, with a heavy heart, taken the decision that the church will close just 4 years after celebrating its centenary. The final service will be on Sunday August 26th and will be led by Avenue’s Local Preachers and Worship Leaders.
